Revered as the 'Father of Hepatology in Bangladesh,' he has contributed significantly to liver research

Prof Dr Mobin Khan, former treasurer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and founding chairman of the hepatology department, has passed away.
He died on Thursday around 3:30pm while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. He was 75 years old.
Dr Fazle Fahim of the hospital’s hepatology department told bdnews24.com, "Sir was ill due to age-related complications and had Parkinson's disease. He was admitted here for treatment."
Born in 1949, Dr Khan was the president of the Bangladesh Hepatology Society, an organisation for liver specialists.
On the society's website, he is described as the 'Father of Hepatology in Bangladesh,' recognised for his contributions to liver disease research nationally and internationally.
