Police have arrested two men over allegedly kidnapping a teenager before raping and filming her in Khagrachhari’s Laxmichhari Upazila.
The incident took place around 10:30am on Thursday, according to Khaled Hossain, chief of Lakshmichhari Police Station.
The victim later filed a case, prompting police to launch a drive and arrest the suspects later that night.
The arrestees were Mofizul Islam, 31, of Jurgachhari, and Abu Taleb Gazi, 28, of Guchchhogram.
Citing the complaint, Khaled said the 18-year-old had gone to bathe in a waterfall near her home when the accused, who allegedly ambushed and dragged her into nearby bushes, proceeded to rape her and record the act on mobile phone.
A case has been filed against the accused under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act, confirmed Khaled.
The accused were arrested around 2:45am based on physical descriptions provided by the teenager, along with the help of technology. The victim later identified both of them, said Khaled.
The accused will be produced in court, he added.
