The Anti-discrimination Student Movement has asked justices they accuse of supporting fascism to resign voluntarily by Thursday morning.
Asif Mahmud, one of the movement's coordinators, urged the top court judges to step down in a statement released around 1am Thursday.
The demand came amid the ongoing unrest following the ouster of the Awami League government in a civil uprising.
The announcement was circulated among journalists via WhatsApp by another coordinator Abdullah Saleheen Ayon, and shared on Facebook by several coordinators including Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud.
The statement expressed concern over the continued presence of judges who are allegedly complicit with a fascist regime.
It criticised the judiciary for mirroring the same obstructions seen before the revolution, now aimed at undermining the student-led government established after recent political upheaval.
The movement demanded the immediate removal of the chief justice and the judges of the Appellate Division who are perceived as active partners in the autocratic system.
The statement warned judges of tough actions if they do not comply and quit by Thursday morning.
It also called on the interim government to ensure an independent judiciary and demanded the resignation of all individuals benefiting from or supporting fascism at all levels.
