100 percent of Eid waste cleared from 12 city corporations, says Advisor Asif Mahmud

He thanks responsible citizens and sanitation workers for their efforts in making the swift clean-up possible

Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has said that all waste from Eid-ul-Azha sacrificial animals has been completely cleared from 487 wards across the country’s 12 city corporations.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, he wrote: "100 percent waste removed from 487 wards in 12 city corporations by 10pm! This has been made possible through coordinated planning, hard work, and dedication."

"This is not just a statistic, it is the victory of our commitment. Cleanliness is no longer just a promise, it is now a reality."

Asif also shared statistics from the waste management reports of the 12 city corporations. According to the data, the total wasted removed amounted to 40,104 tonnes, which required the effort of 35,272 staff members.

By 10pm, 487 wards were 100 percent waste-free.

In a previous post, Asif wrote: "Dhaka cleaned in under 12 hours. Thanks to the responsible residents and the tireless efforts of sanitation workers, the Ministry of Local Government has delivered on its promise.”

“A clean city is not just a goal, it is a daily responsibility. My heartfelt gratitude and love to all colleagues committed to this cause," he said.
