Veteran lawyer Dr Kamal Hossain has expressed confidence in the constitutional reform process, recommending updates to modernise the constitution of Bangladesh.
He met with members of the Constitution Reform Commission at his office in Dhaka on Saturday.
Kamal, who headed the original 1972 Constitution Drafting Committee, welcomed the Reform Commission delegation led by Ali Riaz.
Other commission members in attendance included Sumaiya Khair, Imran Siddique, Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Sharif Bhuiyan, M Moin Alam Firozi, Firoz Ahmed, and Md Mustain Billah.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the reform process. The interim government initiated these reforms following the Sheikh Hasina government's collapse on Aug 5 amid student protests.
As part of these efforts, the nine-strong Constitution Reform Commission was established to review the current constitution and provide recommendations within 90 days.
