The victim succumbs to his injuries while undergoing treatment at DMCH

A man allegedly injured in a shooting over an argument with a neighbour in Narayanganj’s Fatullah has died while undergoing treatment.
He passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday afternoon, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Masud of the hospital’s police outpost.
The victim has been identified with a single name Pavel, 35.
Police said the suspect, Raihan Babu, has been on the run since the incident.
Pavel’s elder brother, Md Masum, alleged: “An argument over pigeons led to Raihan Babu shooting Pavel with a pistol early on Monday.
“We rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, but he died around 3:30pm.”
Fatullah Model Police Station chief Shariful Islam said, “The shooting occurred around 4am. Pavel was found on the street with gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital, where he died.
"The accused, Raihan, had ties with the victim due to their involvement in drug trade and consumption.
“A dispute in the early hours led to Babu opening fire. Efforts are under way to arrest him," he added.
