Police recover ‘gun, counterfeit money’ from bag left at Brahmanbaria parlour

Police have reported the discovery of a pistol and a large amount of counterfeit currency in a bag left by a woman at a parlour in Brahmanbaria's Nabinagar Upazila.

The bag was found on Sunday afternoon at the "Bou Saj" parlour, located in the district's Court Para area, as confirmed by Nabinagar Police chief Shahinur Islam.

Following the discovery, police detained three individuals for questioning, but their identities have not been disclosed.

According to initial police findings, the woman entered the parlour around 3:30pm on Sunday, carrying a travel bag for a “beauty treatment”. After sitting, she got a phone call and informed parlour staff she would return in five minutes, leaving the bag behind.

When she did not return, the staff opened the bag and found a foreign firearm, three bullets, and Tk 1.01 million in counterfeit currency, police said.
