A housewife in Narsingdi’s Raipura Upazila has allegedly been raped and filmed.
The perpetrators also threatened to kill her and her husband if they reported the incident.
On Monday, the woman visited the Narsingdi superintendent of police's office and narrated the incident to Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Kalimullah, according to Raipura Police Station chief Adil Mahmud.
The woman, 40, a mother of three, lives with her husband, who is a follower of Sanatan or Hindu religion.
Around 9pm on Sunday, Rakib Mia, 32, entered the house, found her alone, raped her while his accomplices recorded the video. They also snatched gold jewellery from her ears and neck.
OC Adil said, “The additional superintendent of police called and told me about the matter. I have instructed the inspector (investigation) to take necessary action.
“The woman has not filed a written complaint with the police station yet. A drive has been launched to arrest the accused.”
Police said Rakib is a drug dealer and user, facing multiple charges in drug-related cases.
