He steps down due to 'emerging circumstances and personal reasons'

Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, who was appointed as the director general of the Bangla Academy on Jul 18, has resigned his position.
He submitted his resignation letter on Saturday, just 22 days after his appointment on Saturday, citing 'emerging circumstances and personal reasons'.
He told bdnews24.com the letter has been sent through the proper channels to the cultural affairs ministry.
It is expected that the ministry will review and process the resignation on Sunday.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Khalil Ahmed told bdews24.com: “He [Harun-ur-Rashid Askari] informed me by phone after noon that he would resign.”
He said he needs to check whether the resignation letter has been received by his office.
