Furniture warehouse fire in Dhaka's Badda tamed after nearly an hour

A fire at a furniture warehouse in Satarkul under Badda Police Station in Dhaka has been brought under control after nearly an hour.

Two units subdued the flames under control at 9:58am on Sunday, Fire Service and Civil Defence media officer Anwarul Islam said.

The Fire Service received the report of the warehouse fire at 8:55am.

Anwarul said the first unit arrived at 9:19am and began work at the scene.

Two units from Baridhara Fire Station continued working there, while two more units were called in from Purbachal.

The two Purbachal units, however, were sent back while still on the way as they were no longer needed, Anwarul said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.
