The Public Service Commission, or PSC, has cancelled the viva exam for the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service examination and made important decisions regarding the next two civil service exams.
These decisions were announced in a public notice on Monday.
The commission has decided to re-evaluate the written exam papers of the 45th BCS through a third examiner.
In addition, for the 46th BCS, the PSC has decided to announce new results for the preliminary exam, allowing an equal number of candidates to pass alongside the existing 10,638 successful candidates.
The commission’s spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the developments on Monday night.
The viva for the 44th BCS, which started on May 8, 2024, was last suspended on Aug 25.
A total of 3,930 candidates had appeared for the viva before it was postponed twice.
Out of the 11,732 candidates initially scheduled to participate, those who had already attended the viva will now have to retake the exam.
The PSC notice said the new dates for the viva exam would be announced shortly.
