The government has revised office timings for all the public, semi-public, autonomous and semi-autonomous organisations from 9am to 3:30pm for the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice in this regard on Monday.
Currently, the regular office hours for government employees is from 9am to 5pm.
The office timing has been fixed after considering the Sehri and Iftar timings, the notice said.
Offices will run from 9am to 3:30pm on working days (Sunday to Thursday) with a 15-minute Zuhr prayer break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm every day.
Banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions, postal services, railway, hospitals, state-owned industries, factories and the other emergency services will set their office timings as per their own rules and considering public interest, the notice said.
It also said the Supreme Court will set its own working hours and the timing for the lower courts for the month.
