The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast the formation of another low-pressure area over the southern Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions within the next 24 hours.
According to the BMD, the well-marked low over the southwest Bay and adjoining regions moved west-northwestwards and weakened into a low over Tamil Nadu and nearby areas.
It is likely to continue moving west-northwestwards and gradually become insignificant, the BMD said.
The regular bulletin from the Met Office on Thursday morning said that rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places over the Chattogram Division in the next 24 hours. Apart from this, the weather is likely to remain largely dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country.
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the country during this period.
Bangladesh’s highest temperature in the last 24 hours was 36.5 degrees Celsius in Feni. The lowest temperature was 20.8 degrees Celsius in Panchagarh’s Tentulia.
