Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has returned home after attending the funeral mass of Pope Francis in Vatican City.
He reached Dhaka around 3am on Monday, state news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) reports, citing Yunus's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Pope Francis, who was born in Argentina, died last week at the age of 88. Following his death, the Catholic Church, which has around 1.5 billion followers, began the ancient traditions and ceremonies associated with the farewell of a pontiff.
The chief advisor and his delegation travelled to Qatar's Doha on Apr 21 to attend the Earthna Summit. After completing the four-day trip, they went to the Italian capital Rome on Friday.
