Man stabbed to death in Chattogram

CCTV footage shows him having an altercation with a few people when he was stabbed

A man has been stabbed to death in the neighbourhood of Sagarika in Chattogram.

The incident took place at Pahartali Sagarika BITAC on Thursday night.

The victim has been identified as Akash Das, 25, who worked in a garment factory in BITAC.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Ruhul Amin Labu told bdnews24.com that CCTV camera footage showed Akash having an altercation with a few people and at one point he was stabbed.

Some of the perpetrators have been identified, he said, adding: “They fled at night. Police are working to catch them. Then we’ll know what was the motive of the murder.”

Locals said that Akash had a conflict with another man of his acquaintance. He tried to arbitrate the matter when he was stabbed.
