Police recovers beheaded body of a man from Padma River

Authorities suspect the victim was killed two to three days ago and dumped in the river

Police have recovered the beheaded and slightly decomposed body of a man from the Padma River in Rajbari’s Goalanda Upazila.

The body was retrieved from the Char Kachrand area on Sunday morning, said Sub-Inspector Apurbo of the River Police.

Police have yet to identify the dead man.

“Locals contacted the police station after they saw the beheaded body floating in the river. Later, police went and recovered it,” said SI Apurbo.

“It is assumed that the man was killed two to three days ago and dumped in the river.”

Police are working to identify the man and find out the motive behind his killing, the officer said.
