A youth accused in a rape attempt case has been beaten to death by locals in the latest case of mob-lynching.
Kotwali Model Police Station chief Mizanur Rahman said the incident took place on Saturday on Dhan Gobeshona Road in Barishal city.
The deceased, 24-year-old Sujon, identified with a single name, was a resident of the city's Zianagar. He used to drive a battery-powered autorickshaw.
Mizanur said an allegation of attempted rape of a child was made in Zianagar on Mar 13.
The child was admitted to the One Stop Crisis Centre of Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
