Internet service may be disrupted in various parts of Bangladesh on Saturday due to maintenance work on submarine cables.
Bangladesh Submarine Cables Company Limited said in a press release that the maintenance of the country's first submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE-4) system installed in Cox's Bazar will be conducted at the Singapore end.
Cable-connected circuits will remain partially closed for about 12 hours from 6am to 6pm on Saturday. For this reason, internet service may be interrupted during those times.
However, circuits connected through the country's second submarine (SEA-ME-WE-5) cable installed at Kuakata will continue to operate as usual, BSCCL said.
