Body of policeman found hanging inside Darshana checkpost

Shamim Hossain had not been at work since the morning and his body was found hanging after a search began

Police have recovered the body of a policeman hanging with a noose around his neck inside the Darshana Joynagar Checkpost in Chuadanga. Police believe he died by suicide.

The body was found when his colleagues saw it through the window of his bedroom around 8:30am, said Chuadanga Police Superintendent Khandaker Golam Mowla.

The policeman was identified as Shamim Hossain, 31, hailing from Jhutiadanga village in Kushtia’s Mirpur. He was identified as constable No. 532. and worked at the immigration department.

Police Superintendent Khandaker Golam Mowla said he had inspected the scene. Initially, it is assumed that Shamim died by suicide, but police are investigating for further details.
