The vehicles on the highway are taking the route through Demra, Siddhirganj Police Station OC Abdul Matin told bdnews24.com.

They have also set fire to a filling station at Siddhirganj’s Mouchak during demonstrations there.

bdnews24.com correspondent Ashik Hossain travelling to Narayanganj said a ghostly air prevailed as the highway barely had any vehicle or people on it.

The Awami League-backed councillor was abducted along with four of his aides by men posing as RAB members on Sunday.

He was among the six decomposing bodies found floating on the river at Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila on Wednesday.
