Private travel agencies have announced three Hajj packages for next year following the government’s announcement of its official packages.

Farid Ahmed Mazumder, secretary general of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), announced the packages at a hotel in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan on Tuesday.

Of these, the cost of the special Hajj package, including food and sacrifice, has been set at Tk 750,000.

The cost of the general package is Tk 550,00, while the cost of the affordable package has been set at Tk 510,000.

The price of the general Hajj package was hiked by Tk 27,000 from last year. Regarding the price increase, Farid said: “The price of the Hajj packages has been set in accordance with the cost of providing the package last year as the final cost analysis for the Saudi phase has yet to be determined.

“If the royal Saudi government subsequently increases or decreases the cost in any sector, the package price will be adjusted according to the cost in the applicable sector and the pilgrim will have to pay the adjusted price. If the airfare decreases, the package price will also be adjusted.”

He said, “This year, as the payment of the Qurbani money on the Nusuk Masar platform is mandatory, the Qurbani payment has been included in the government and private packages. The airfare for the pilgrims has also been calculated excluding taxes and charges on the Bangladesh side.”

The cost of the package is based on an exchange rate of Tk 32.85 per Saudi riyal, he said: “The food cost is not included in the price for the government Hajj packages, but the price of food is included in each private package in the interests of improved service.”

Last year, due to the absence of a Hajj HAAB committee, the agency owners announced packages in two groups.

Two packages were announced under the banner of “general Hajj agency owners” and three others under the banner of “Hajj agency owners against discrimination”.

The general Hajj agency owners set the price of the general Hajj package at Tk 523,000 including food expenses, and the price of the special Hajj package at Tk 699,000.

The Hajj agency owners against discrimination offered three packages. These were priced at Tk 518,000, Tk 585,000, and a special package at Tk 675,000.

Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain unveiled three government Hajj packages for 2026 on Sunday at the Secretariat.

Package-1 was priced at Tk 690,579, Package-2 at Tk 558,881, and Package-3 at 467,167.
