Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has formed a “high-powered” committee to ensure safe food and check adulteration.
He asked the three-member panel to submit a report on “solvable and long-term problems” within a month.
Deputy Press Secretary Md Suzauddhowla Sujon Mahmud said, during its formation on Monday, the committee was tasked with identifying obstacles faced by agencies concerned to ensure food safety, oversee product quality and conduct anti-adulteration drives.
It is headed by the premier’s Public Administration Advisor Md Ismail Zabihullah and also includes State Minister for Public Administration Md Abdul Bari and Cabinet Division Secretary Nasimul Ghani.
