PM’s Defence Advisor Shamsul takes charge of Armed Forces Division

Along with the additional responsibility, his rank is reassigned to that of a state minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's Defence Advisor retired brigadier general AKM Shamsul Islam has been given the additional responsibility of overseeing the Armed Forces Division alongside the Ministry of Defence.

The government announced his appointment on Monday.

Shamsul’s rank has also been reassigned to that of a state minister.

He previously served as the chief security officer of former BNP chief Khaleda Zia, and Tarique when he was the acting chairman.
