The interim government has relieved one deputy attorney general and three assistant attorney generals of their duties.

Those relieved are Deputy Attorney General Sheikh Julfikar Alam Shimul and Assistant Attorney Generals Ibrahim Khalil, Md Ayub Ali, and Md Montu Alam.

The Ministry of Law issued two separate gazette notifications on Sunday over this withdrawal, by order of the president.

One order said the appointment of Julfikar as deputy attorney general had been cancelled in the public interest, and he had been relieved of his responsibilities with immediate effect.

The other order said the appointments of Supreme Court lawyers Ibrahim, Ayub, and Montu as assistant attorneys general had been cancelled, and they had been relieved of their posts."
