Police detain the 71-year-old on charges of raping his neighbour's child

An elderly man has been arrested on charges of raping a 10-year-old child in Chattogram's Sitakunda Upazila.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday in Bhatiari's East Hasnabad Swandip Para.
The detainee has been identified as 71-year-old Md Yusuf.
After word of the alleged incident involving Yusuf and his neighbour's child spread, local villagers apprehended him later that evening, according to Inspector Sohel Rana from Sitakunda Police Station's Faujdarhat outpost.
Police later took Yusuf into custody and had the child taken to the hospital.
Yusuf has since been placed under arrest in a case started by the child's family, said Inspector Sohel.
