Singapore Airlines has been named the world’s best economy-class airline for 2026, followed by Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways and EVA Air, according to the BBC.
The rankings are based on Skytrax’s annual passenger satisfaction survey, which evaluates airlines across airport and onboard experiences.

Small differences in seat width, legroom, food and service can make long economy flights noticeably more comfortable.
Singapore Airlines has been praised for wider seats on some Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, along with its catering, entertainment system and service, the British broadcaster said.
Travel expert Gary Leff said small touches such as footrests and dedicated cup holders can also improve the experience.
Cathay Pacific ranked second, with strong scores for seats, catering and entertainment. Skytrax also named its cabin crew the world’s best for 2026, per the BBC.
Qatar Airways placed third and has focused heavily on connectivity, with Starlink Wi-Fi being rolled out across its widebody fleet.
EVA Air ranked fourth, with adjustable headrests, ergonomic seating and Asian-focused meals among its strengths, placing second in Skytrax's economy-catering ranking.
ANA completed the top five, with some Boeing 787-9 aircraft offering up to 34 inches of seat pitch, alongside features such as footrests, larger entertainment screens and Bluetooth audio.
Aviation commentator Lachlan Hyde told the BBC that "economy is won through consistency", with comfortable seats and service, worthwhile food and good entertainment for a better flight experience.
