This is the first tournament of its kind, where five countries are coming together, Michael Kifle, Communication Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said.

The ICRC, together with the Bangladesh Cricket Board, will organise this T20 event from Sep 2 to Sep 10.

Kifle, speaking at a journalists training programme on violence and conflicts reporting at a resort in a Dhaka suburb, said the tournament would be opened at the Sher-e-Bangla cricket stadium in Mirpur.

Apart from Bangladesh, he said, Afghanistan, India, England and Pakistan would take part.

Bangladesh will face England in the opening match.

Ten matches will be played and the final, on Sep 10, would be held at the BKSP, Bangladesh sports training school, where most of the matches would be played.

The ICRC physical rehabilitation project had created a national cricket team for Bangladesh for the tournament.
