Dhaka, Nov 26 (BDNEWS) – Bangladesh will try to concede fewer goals against Asian football giants Iran in their home match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Youth Championship at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Sunday.
Iran is quite strong and far better than us. So our target is to concede lesser number of goals, manager of Bangladesh team Mohsin said at a press briefing Saturday.
Bangladesh suffered a painful 0-5 defeat to Iran in Tehran on November 23.
Bangladesh can not think of win, our boys will try to play their best on the field, the official said.
A total of five players can't play in the match. Of them, Mithun Choudhury and Mamun Hossain were warned with red cards in the last match. Zahid Hossain and Ariful Islam can't play following objections of the AFC. Nasirul Islam Nasir suffer from injuries.
Besides, the head of youth committee of Iranian Team Ahmed Khodadad Kashi said showing respect to the Bangladesh team, "Technically and tactically, Bangladesh is a good team, but difference of physical fitness remained."
Iranian Brazilian head coach Ademar Fonseca Nogueira Junior and the Brazilian assistant coach Wagner Bertelli expressed their firm determination to win the match and said, "We came here with a strong team and we want to win."
Earlier, the Iranian team arrived here Friday evening with a 35-member team including 26 players, one head of youth committee, one manager, three coaches, one doctor, one supplier, one interpreter and one official.
