Police have not specified the cases under which they were detained

Detective police have arrested six activists and leaders linked to the Awami League and its affiliated organisations on allegations of involvement in “wrongdoings”.
The arrests were made during drives across Dhaka on Friday and Saturday, police said in a statement.
However, police have not specified the cases under which the individuals were detained.
The detainees are Ashraful Islam Naim, senior organising secretary of Ward-5 unit of Pallabi Thana Chhatra League, Ripon Hossain Fahim, general secretary of Jatrabari Thana Chhatra League, Sheikh Md Sohel, vice-president of Ward-59 unit of Dhaka South City Corporation’s Sramik League, Sohel Rana, relief and disaster affairs secretary of Badda Thana Swechchha Sebak League, Mohammad Yamin, organising secretary of Ward-37 unit of Badda Thana Chhatra League, and Abul Bashar Khan, vice-president of Ward-12 unit of the Awami League.
According to the statement, Naim was apprehended in Baunia on Friday.
On the same day, Fahim was arrested in Jatrabari and Sohel in Mohammadbagh.
On Saturday, police detained Sohel and Yamin in Badda, and Bashar in the Shah Ali area.
