AL wins Banshkhali

Awami League’s Mostafizur Rahman has unofficially won the election for Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali).

Chittagong district’s Returning Officer Abdul Mannan, who is the Deputy Commissioner, declared him winner from the control room set up at the meeting room of district administration building.

According to the results, Mutafizur with electoral logo ‘boat’ received 147,855 votes.

His closest contender, Jatiya Paty’s Haider Ali Chowdhury drew 6,848 votes in favour of his poll symbol ‘Bicycle’.

There are 110 voting centres for this seat that has 268,567 voters.
