Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju has apologised for straying from a promised new political framework.

Speaking at an event on Tuesday amid rumours of AB Party leaving the 11-party coalition led by the Jamaat-e-Islami, he said the party had failed to stand by its pledge due to the ongoing “turmoil” over the elections.

“The responsibility is ours; part of it lies in the state and election management, and for that we seek forgiveness.”
