Jatiya Party-JaPa Co-Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa has said Awami League leaders with a “clean image” will be given nominations if they join the political party.

“Even if they are supporters of the Awami League, those with no cases or allegations of violence against them will get party nominations if they join the Jatiya Party.”

He told journalists this after a workers’ rally at the Jatiya Party (JaPa) office on Rangpur’s Central Road on Saturday.

Mostafa said, “If we deem an Awami League supporter a suitable candidate, we will certainly grant him a nomination to address our candidate shortage.”

Highlighting that the JaPa will field candidates for 300 seats in the next election, he said: “If a better and stronger candidate than a current Jatiya Party nominee emerges, with no record of violence, there is no reason not to grant them a nomination.

“The Awami League enjoys full support in Faridpur, Gopalganj, and other districts, and if individuals with a clean image join the Jatiya Party there, they will be given nominations.”
