Tazia procession in Dhaka

A Tazia procession was held in Dhaka with religious solemnity on the day of Ashura to commemorate the Battle of Karbala. The procession began from Old Dhaka’s Hussaini Dalan on Friday. Wearing black clothes, barefoot, and carrying mourning flags, the procession travelled through different streets chanting “Haay Hussain, Haay Hussain” before ending in Dhanmondi.
