A bridge at last over Rampura canal

A 42-metre pedestrian bridge over the Narai Canal between Banasree and Aftabnagar in Dhaka has opened to the public. Until now, residents had to cross the canal on makeshift bamboo bridges or by boat, often at considerable risk.

Built with a steel frame and concrete slabs, the pedestrian bridge stretches 42m across the Narai Canal and is 3.8m wide.
