Bangladesh has reported eight more deaths due to dengue fever, while 778 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the disease in the past 24 hours.
The total number of hospitalisations from the Aedes mosquito-borne illness this year has reached 90,264, with 20,402 patients admitted in November alone.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Sunday, of the eight dengue patients who died in the past 24 hours, three were admitted to hospitals in Mymensingh, two in Dhaka South City Corporation, and one each in Barishal, Chattogram, and Dhaka divisions.
In the first 23 days of November, dengue has claimed 86 lives, the highest monthly death toll in 2025. Until now, 364 people have died from the fever this year.
October saw the second-highest monthly death toll, with 80 fatalities. Previously, 76 people died in September.
July logged 10,684 hospitalisations and 41 deaths, followed by August with 10,496 cases and 39 deaths.
No dengue deaths were reported in March. In contrast, 10 people died in January, three in February, seven in April, three in May, and 19 in June.
Monthly figures this year also include 1,161 admissions in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, 1,773 in May, and 5,951 in June, 15,866 in September and 22,520 in October.
