Bangladesh has registered four more child deaths linked to measles symptoms in a day, with 141 new cases confirmed in the same period.

The total number of suspected measles cases since the start of the outbreak has hit 101,211, while the number of confirmed cases has risen to 11,851.

In its regular measles bulletin on Monday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that 93 people have died of confirmed cases of measles across the country since Mar 15.

In addition, 623 people with suspected measles cases have also died over the time frame.

The Dhaka Division has logged the highest number of symptomatic fatalities so far at 268.

The death toll across other divisions stands at 88 in Rajshahi, 79 in Sylhet, 51 in Chattogram, 39 in Barishal, 62 in Mymensingh, 28 in Khulna, and eight in Rangpur.

According to the health directorate, a total of 1,004 people sought hospital care with measles symptoms over the latest 24-hour count, with 962 requiring admission.

Dhaka registered the highest caseload, with 373 hospitalisations. Rajshahi saw 35 hospital admissions, Sylhet 74, Chattogram 238, Barishal 102, Mymensingh 66, Khulna 63, and Rangpur 11.

So far, 80,193 of 83,806 patients hospitalised have been discharged after treatment.
