Acclaimed filmmaker Tanim Noor, known for “Utshob”, has started working on a new film titled “Bonolota Express”, adapted from celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed’s novel “Kichukkhon”.
The film is set for release in next year’s Eid-ul-Fitr.
Actors Sariful Razz, Sabila Nur, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Mosharraf Karim are being considered for lead roles, though the cast has not been finalised yet.
To announce the project, Tanim released a one-minute teaser on Facebook featuring a speeding train set to Artcell’s song "Chaitei Paro".
The post reads, “Coming this Eid-ul-Fitr, another film inspired by the magician Humayun Ahmed. After Utshob, Tanim Noor’s Bonolota Express, don’t miss the train.”
The screenplay is being written by Samiul Bhuiyan and Ayman Asib Shadhin.
Securing adaptation rights for Humayun’s novels is often a complex process, but Tanim told Glitz that the experience was smooth this time.
“There wasn’t much complication in securing permission, we received full cooperation. It was a very positive experience. We hope to bring something truly special to audiences with Kichukkhon.”
Like Utshob, Bonolota Express will feature a star-studded cast.
Filming is scheduled to begin in December, with shooting locations planned both in Bangladesh and abroad. Script development and pre-production are under way.
The film will be produced under the banner of Buriganga Talkies, with additional production support from Dope Productions and Hoichoi Studio.
