Remittance inflows into Bangladesh have continued their strong upward trend despite ongoing global conflicts, with expatriates sending more than $3 billion for the fifth consecutive month.
In April alone, migrant workers remitted about $3.13 billion, up 13.62 percent from the same month a year earlier, according to updated Bangladesh Bank data released on Sunday.
The figure extends a rare streak of consistent monthly inflows above the $3 billion mark. In April last year, expatriates had sent $2.75 billion.
During the first 10 months of the ongoing 2025–26 fiscal year, total remittance reached $29.32 billion, marking a 19.54 percent increase from the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the July–April period of FY2024–25, remittance inflows stood at $24.54 billion.
