In the first edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) last year, Shakib played for the Barbados Tridents while Tamim represented the St Lucia Zouks.
After the conclusion of the CPL’s second version, the Bangladesh cricket team will tour the West Indies. And if Shakib and Tamim can ply their trade in the domestic competition, it should help Bangladesh’s cause.
A draft of the auction list had 32 Aussies, 26 Pakistanis, 23 South Africans, 13 New Zealanders and 11 Sri Lankans along with the two of the biggest stars of Bangladesh cricket.
Like last time, no other cricketers from Bangladesh have been included in the auction. Former Zimbabwean left-arm spinner Ray Price, Ireland’s Kevin O’ Brien and Netherland’s Tom Cooper are also on the list.
A maximum of 19 players will be allowed for each team in the CPL.
The tournament fixtures have not yet been released. It will be held within July and August. Bangladesh will visit the West Indies towards the end of August.
