This after a court ordered him to prison in a case filed by actress Naznin Akter Happy.
The case was filed under provisions of the Women Repression Act.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said it will look for a replacement if Rubel fails to make it to Australia with the team.
The BCB’s chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the Bangladesh team fly for Australia on Jan 24.
He refused to comment on the Rubel issue on grounds it is sub-judice.
A Dhaka court sent Rubel to prison rejecting his bail plea after the star cricketer surrendered on Thursday.
“It will not be right to make any remark before the issue is settled. It has just come to our knowledge. The next step will be decided after discussions with the BCB policymakers,” said Nizamuddin.
