Electing to bat, Bangladesh posted 215 for 6 riding on half-centuries from Sharmin Akhter (56) and Fargana Hoque (51) at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
Apart from a modest middle-order resistance, Papua New Guinea batsmen did not stand a chance as Rumana Ahmed and other Bangladesh bowlers rallied to skittle their opponents out for a measly 97.
The match, however, was not an ODI as Papua New Guinea have no ICC One-Day status.
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in their next Group B game.
