International Standard University (ISU) has organised a freshers’ reception for students enrolled in the Spring 2026 semester.
The event took place at its Mohakhali campus auditorium on Thursday, featuring cultural performances and participation from newly admitted students.
The event was chaired by the university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdul Awal Khan, while Member Secretary of the Board of Trustees Hasnat Mosharraf attended as the guest of honour.
Addressing the students, Prof Khan said the university is committed to ensuring quality education and developing graduates who are both skilled and socially responsible.
He urged students to maintain discipline, lead organised lives and develop a sense of responsibility towards society and the country.
He also encouraged them to contribute to national development through knowledge and integrity.
Highlighting the importance of research, the vice-chancellor said students should engage in research activities from the beginning of university life to strengthen their knowledge and skills.
He also stressed the need to acquire technological competencies to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
Hasnat said university education is not limited to academic achievement, but also involves building leadership qualities and creating a positive impact on society.
He encouraged students to foster cooperation, honesty and mutual trust, while also embracing emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to prepare for future challenges.
During the event, the newcomers were welcomed with flowers and introduced to the university’s academic courses, facilities and co-curricular activities.
A cultural segment featuring music, dance and group performances by students from different departments added to the celebrations.
