A Dash-8 Q400 aircraft carrying 76 passengers left Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport for Kathmandu at 3pm on Sunday, said the airlines' public relations officer Sheikh Sadi Shishir.
"The aircraft could not land at the Nepalese airport due to bad weather," he said.
He said the aircraft hovered over the airport for a while and returned to Dhaka after being denied landing signal.
Shishir said the flight would take off again once the weather in Nepal improved.
US-Bangla Managing Director Abdullah Al Mamun told bdnews24.com later in the evening that no flight could land in Nepal on Sunday due to bad weather.
"We are leaving for Nepal after a short time," he added.
