Former NBR chief Md Abdul Mazid has been elected as the first Chairman of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) after the bourse has been demutualised.

“The CSE board of Directors has unanimously elected former NBR chief Abdul Mazid as the Chairman in line with the Demutualisation Act,” CSE’s PR official Sanjida Parvin told bdnews24.com on Saturday.
“CSE’s independent director Abdul Mazid has been unanimously elected chairman,” the port city bourse’s managing director Syed Sajid Hossain told bdnews24.com.
In an instant reaction, the new CSE Chairman Abdul Mazid told bdnews24.com: “This is a challenge. The stock exchange will be operated now in a new manner according to the Demutualisation Act…will work together with all the stakeholders to maintain investors’ confidence on the market.”
