The new board chaired by retired Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari will oversee the coming of a ‘new dawn’ for the national flag carrier, hopes Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon.
The new 13-member board has been formed for a year to ensure Biman’s ‘overall development and to inject dynamism into its activities’, the ministry said in a media release on Tuesday.
Bari’s predecessor Air Marshal Jamal Uddin’s contract ended on Dec 30 last year.

Secretary Nazrul Islam, who is on post retirement leave, assistant chief of air staff (operations and training), chief engineer of the Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh chairman are also on the new board.
The other members are Additional Secretary Tapas Kumar Roy (on PRL), Supreme Court lawyer Tanjibul Alam, BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman, Emerging Resources Limited Managing Director Noor-eKhoda Abdul Mobin, and Biman CEO.
