Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman have attended a dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for world leaders gathered in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.
The dinner was held at the Lotte New York Palace hotel on Wednesday.
Leaders from 145 countries and their spouses attended the event.
Earlier in the day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres hosted a breakfast for heads of state and government, which Tarique and Zubaida also attended.
Tarique is in New York for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, his first appearance at the gathering since becoming prime minister in February. He is scheduled to address the General Debate on Sept 24, delivering his first UNGA speech as head of government.
His New York itinerary includes a series of high-level meetings and events on climate change, the Rohingya crisis and other global issues, as well as bilateral meetings with foreign leaders.
The prime minister has also met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the General Assembly, with the two sides discussing ways to expand cooperation in areas including trade and investment.
