The body of a 13-year-old schoolboy who went missing after leaving home to take photos with friends has been recovered from the Lalmai Hills in Cumilla.
Police found the body around 1pm on Saturday at the foot of the hills near South Mor in Salmanpur, close to the Cumilla University campus, said Rokibul Islam, chief of Cumilla Sadar South Model Police Station.
The boy, identified by his first name as Apratim, was a seventh-grader at Border Guard Public School.
He was the son of Dr Nahida Begum, an associate professor in the Bangla department at Cumilla University.
Apratim left his home in the Kotbari area around 3:30pm on Friday carrying an iPhone and did not return.
His family searched several places for him before his father, KM Firoz Shahriar, filed a general diary with Cumilla Sadar South Police Station.
Police later recovered his body from the Lalmai Hills on Saturday.
