The protest began at 11am on Wednesday and ended at 2pm. Earlier, the students had promised to resume their protest after leaving the street around 2pm on Tuesday.

“We believe our merit hasn’t been evaluated properly since the college became affiliated. But we don’t want the affiliation to be cancelled as it came from a decision of the prime minister,” said Zakia Chowdhury, a third year student of Eden College.
“We won’t defy her. We want our colleges to remain affiliated but also want our merit to be evaluated properly.”
“We want a separate administration building where we can work out our issues easily,” she said.
“We don’t want the affiliation to be cancelled. But we want an end to the session jam we face every year due to the affiliation. Ending the affiliation won’t give us back the time we lost over this session jam.”
He said the protests will continue until the authorities of Dhaka University provide assurances of meeting their demands.
