Shahidul Islam appointed Bangladesh’s new envoy to Malaysia

Bangladesh has appointed Md Shahidul Islam as the new High Commissioner to Malaysia, the foreign ministry says.

A career diplomat, Islam is currently serving as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

He also served as Bangladesh High Commissioner to South Africa.

Islam joined the Foreign Service through BCS 1984 batch.

In his long career, he served in Bangladesh Missions in Brussels, Colombo, Abu Dhabi, Rome and Los Angeles in different capacities.

He had his masters in journalism from Dhaka University, and international politics from the Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
