Public Service Commission member Sadiq made its chairman

Public Service Commission (PSC) member Mohammad Sadiq has been made its chairman.

The public administration ministry issued an order to this effect on Monday.

A former secretary to the government, Sadiq is replacing  Ekram Ahmed, whose tenure as the PSC chairman expired on Apr 13.

The appointment of Sadiq will take effect once he resigns as a member.

He was made PSC member on Oct 27, 2014 while being on leave preparatory to retirement (LPR).

He had served the education ministry and the Election Commission as secretary.

Born in Sunamganj in Sept 1955, Sadiq entered bureaucracy after passing the Bangladesh Civil Service examinations held in 1982.
